HIGH QUALITY INNOVATIVE TEACHING, LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT

What characterises teaching and learning at a CBAT school?

• High quality innovative teaching and learning to engage, challenge and support all learners.

• Teaching that addresses the academic needs of all students from early learning to A level study, with high aspirations for all.

• The capacity to promote a wider educational experience than each academy can do in isolation to empower learners and give them the opportunity to develop additional skills and knowledge.

• Continuous development of our leaders, teachers and support staff with opportunities across the MAT for training, experience and the sharing of best practice.

A commitment to recruiting and developing the best teaching and support staff.

CBAT schools have a commitment to:

  • The continuing professional development of our staff.
  • Providing support for the development of teachers from NQT to aspiring Headteacher through our partnership with CETA.
  • Initial teacher training to develop a future workforce – working with training partners, GITEP, Bath Spa and Bristol Universities.

Since being awarded National Teaching School status in 2014, Marling School formed CETA and has taken a lead role in school-centred training and the professional development of staff. As CBAT is now a strategic partner in the Cotswold Edge Teaching Alliance (CETA), we are committed to pursuing excellence in teaching, learning and leadership. Training, support, research and development is created and delivered by schools for schools across the primary and secondary sector.

The support we can commission from CETA for every school in the Trust includes:

  • CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

CETA offers cross phase CPD and leadership training which is collaboratively planned and delivered by its partner schools.

  • LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Aspirant Middle Leader (AML) and Aspirant Senior Leader (ASL) programmes help participants develop skills for successful leadership within both secondary and primary education.

  • SCHOOL TO SCHOOL SUPPORT (S2SS)

CETA supports schools by drawing on skilled and qualified leaders, teachers and school practitioners from its partner schools.

  • COTSWOLD EDGE TEACHING ALLIANCE (CETA)

CBAT is a strategic partner of the Cotswold Edge Teaching Alliance (CETA), which is a partnership of schools and training partners sharing skills, experience, talent and capacity to help improve learning and achievement in schools across Gloucestershire. Find out more about CETA here.
